Eligibility Requirements:

Before you begin the licensing process, make sure you meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 18 years old

  • Possess a valid Social Security Number or ITIN

  • Complete a background check (via fingerprinting)

  • Complete pre-licensing education from a state-approved provider (ExamFX)

Pre-Licensing Education:

To qualify for the exam, you must complete the following California state-required coursework:

    •    20 hours of Life and/or Health Insurance education

    •    12 hours of Ethics and California Insurance Code
